Web 2.0 is a concept that has become more and more popular over the years. As a result of its popularity, the Internet society has become more interactive and collaborative. Web 2.0 is the involvement of human society into the Internet. Web 2.0 is a social web that allows users to interact with each other through sites and applications like MySpace, Face book, Orkut and Wikipedia. Social media sites, social networks and news sites serve as the best options for communication and interactive activities. The concept of Web 2.0 has been known to also produce positive results for most businesses as social networks have become extremely popular nowadays. Social networking allows people to share their thoughts, ideas, and feelings about particular issues. Since these networks connect as many people to each other as possible, and from different parts of the world at that, social networking is also an effective marketing strategy.
As technology continues to develop, industry experts regularly come up with new ways for Web 2.0 to become useful. Aside from being excellent venues for meeting new friends, finding lost relatives, rekindling friendships, and reaching out to prospective customers and partners, Web 2.0 has also become a good tool for informing people about current developments in their hometowns or countries. One of the newest features of Web 2.0 involves innovation in mobile technology, especially in Europe. Recent developments in mobile phones now include Web 2.0-influenced features. Meanwhile, Italy’s Telecom Italia will soon be introducing mobile devices that allow users to buy goods and services. A Portuguese mobile company, on the other hand, recently unveiled a multimedia and social networking service. Clearly, the concept of Web 2.0 has jumped from the Internet into mobile technology.
Proponents of the Web 2.0 concept say that it differs from early web development in that it moves away from static websites, the use of search engines, and surfing from one website to the next, towards a more dynamic and interactive World Wide Web. Some people think that later developments have not actually superseded the original and fundamental concepts of the World Wide Web.
